Kiko knows who it's for.

A small home robot built for one person. It knows its owner and keeps what it sees.

Most machines don't know who they're for.

A robot that follows people usually goes to whoever is closest. A camera at home needs someone behind it, or a server somewhere to work. Neither knows you.

Meet Kiko.

20 × 18 × 30 cm. A face that shows what it is thinking. A camera on a mast that rises when it is needed. Designed and built in Berlin.

One robot. One person.

Knows its owner

已实现

Kiko learns one person at setup and tells them apart from everyone else. Other faces are not saved.

Stays with you

已实现

Kiko keeps a set distance behind its owner, past other people, and searches calmly when it loses them.

Answers to its name

已实现

Say "Kiko". It answers in a short sentence and shows what it is doing on its face.

Keeps you in frame

测试中

Raise the mast and Kiko can film you while you move.

Sense. Understand. Decide. Act. All inside Kiko.

Kiko sees in depth, listens and feels touch. It works out who is who, picks its next move and acts with wheels, voice, face and mast. All of it runs on a Jetson computer inside the robot, with ROS 2.

What Kiko sees stays on Kiko.

A robot with a camera lives in your home. What it sees should stay in your home.

  • Only the owner's data, on the robot
  • Other faces are not saved
  • Nothing sent to a server

The hard part.

Most robots that follow people track the nearest person. Kiko tracks one, and keeps doing so when they turn around, change a jacket or walk behind someone else.

Read the research notes

Three engineers. One robot. Berlin.

A barycenter is the point two bodies orbit together. Neither is the centre. That is how we think about people and robots in one home.
