The problem
Directions
Owner identification in the real world
Most robots that follow people track the nearest person. Kiko tracks one specific person, and keeps doing so when that person turns around, changes a jacket, walks behind someone else or leaves the room.
Where we are going
NowKiko, version one. Building the first Kiko in Berlin. Owner recognition, following, voice and a face.
NextResearch. We publish how Kiko finds its owner, and what we measured.
LaterKiko, version two. A new Kiko, shaped by what we learn from the first one.
Why Barycenter
A barycenter is the point two bodies orbit together. Neither one is the centre. The centre is shared. That is how we think about people and robots in the same home.
The long view
A shared centre. People and robots sharing homes and work.
